The short version
FairlyQuoted is a small company in the Temecula valley. We tell you what your home project should cost, then let local contractors give you an honest number. Free for homeowners, forever. Free for contractors to bid, forever. Nobody's contact information is for sale. That's the whole business model rant, and we'll get back to it.
Why we built it
We got tired of how getting contractor quotes works, so we built the thing we wanted to use. Took forever. You're welcome.
Somewhere along the way, asking what a fence costs became a lead-generation industry. You fill out one form; three days later your phone thinks it's a customer service hotline. The same file. Sold ten times. The big sites earn money when your phone rings, so they make sure it rings. The contractors buying those leads are getting played too - ten hopefuls paying for the same job, one of them gets it. Everyone loses except the company selling the file.
We think you should get a number before anyone gets your name. So that's what we made.
What it actually is
You photograph the project and answer three questions. Our software works out what it should cost around here and shows you an honest local range, in minutes, anonymously. If you want the work done, you post the job. Contractors bid blind: they give their honest number without seeing anyone else's, and you decide. Your phone number and street address stay yours until you accept a bid. Not a marketing promise, a mechanical fact - the forms that would collect them don't exist.
No sales team. No call center. No newsletter. We checked.
Who's behind it
One person, mostly. FairlyQuoted was built by Ralph Cockburn: the estimator, the marketplace, the contractor tools, this paragraph. Ralph lives in the valley, so the launch market wasn't a strategy-deck decision. It was the driveway. And when you write to hello@, the founder is the one reading it. There's no ticket queue to hide behind. We checked that too.
Where we are
We're based in the Temecula valley in Southern California, which is also where we launched: Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, Wildomar, Winchester, French Valley. When your estimate says local, it means our own backyard. We drive past these fences.
